About Lunita Company

Lunita Company, LLC was founded in 2007 by Lina Cuartas and Annabel Lugo Hoffman. Its mission is to help families develop their children’s minds, bodies and souls through quality bilingual books, unique and creative artwork, and other products. 

Lina Cuartas is an author and illustrator. She has worked extensively with children, both professionally and personally. She has over 24 years of teaching experience, many of which include serving underprivileged children in communities throughout the Amazon Rain Forest, Colombia, and the U.S. She draws upon her past interactions with native people and children from South America, as well as her interactions with her own two children, to provide interesting tools and ideas to help connect families with their children.    

Annabel Lugo Hoffman is an attorney with extensive experience representing children as a guardian ad litem in civil litigation cases in Texas. She also serves underprivileged children in her community. In addition to her responsibilities for the business aspects of Lunita Company, Annabel Hoffman is a contributor to Lina’s books and ideas.  Both Lina and Annabel are committed to using their God-given talents to help children from all socio-economic levels reach their spiritual, emotional and intellectual potential. 

“Lunita” means “little moon” in Spanish. On a clear night, a full moon provides glorious light that allows us to see the landscape before us.  The moon, however magnificent, does not shine with its own power.  It reflects the light of a seemingly bigger star – our sun. We want to be like the moon’s light, guiding you as you lead your child to imagine, create, and discover. Join us as we use books, art and other materials to teach our children how to become beacons of the light that the world so desperately needs.
